Member seeks input on departmental organization

MHOA member and Manchester-by-the Sea Health Director Wendy Hansbury is seeking advice from colleagues who have faced departmental consolidation within their municipalities. What model works well in your community? What doesn't work? Models under consideration are: Moving health under community services (Parks and Recreation as department head), under land use planning (Town Planner as the department head), attempt to stay autonomous, or attempt to separate Inspections from the Assessor's Office and be the dept. head (Inspections is part time Building Inspector).
